Builders' liability insurance news: Workers warned about heatwave conditions
With forecasts predicting a further rise in temperatures this week, the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is advising outdoor workers to take precautions to protect themselves from the heat.
Professor Steve Field, chairman of the RCGP, explained that a level two heatwave warning has been issued with temperatures expecting to be in the 30s in some parts of the UK over the coming days, while the night temperatures are also expected to stay above 18C.
He stressed that workers such as builders who cannot avoid being outside in the heat should make sure they apply sun cream and keep hydrated.
"It's important to keep cool and that's particularly difficult for people working out of doors of course," said Professor Field.
"If you have to be in the sun, be in the sun for as short a time as possible with a hat on whether you have got hair or not."
